Early ’90s club kid icon and world-famous DJ Keoki A.K.A. George Lopez has been arrested along with Patrick Walsh as part of an investigation into the death of Thomas Felty, who produced for NBC, Universal and other studios. Felty, who was 36, passed away on January 4th in his Upper East Side apartment in New York City where Lopez and Walsh were also found in possession of controlled substances.

According to the New York Post, Walsh and Lopez had woken up to discover that Felty wasn’t breathing after the three of them had met elsewhere and retired to Felty’s apartment. When the police answered Lopez’ 911 call around 5:00 AM, they found a black bag stuffed with half-gallon and full-gallon zip lock bags of methamphetamine as well as others containing cocaine and hundreds of ecstasy and MDMA pills.

Lopez was perhaps best known as a fixture of the NYC club kid scene of the ’80s and ’90s. He was depicted by Wilder Valderrama in the 2003 film Party Monster, which detailed the rise and fall of club kid poster boy Michael Alig – who himself was imprisoned for the 1996 murder of Andre “Angel” Melendez and released on parole in 2014.

It’s a common misconception that Keoki’s birth name was Keoki Franconi. Sources close to Lopez have revealed to djbios that he adopted the pseudonym to hide that he was El Salvadorian, and upon further inspection, the Keoki trademark had indeed been registered in Lopez’ name.

While early reports indicate that Felty’s heart was enlarged, his official cause of death has not been determined at this time.
